Tailored training courses

You can boost your in-house capability by accessing our training and coaching services.

Our experience when attending training courses over the years has been mixed. But one thing has always bugged us: we hate it when we go on an off-the-shelf course only to find it didn’t do what we wanted.

So even though we offer two supposedly off-the-shelf courses, we always do make sure they are tailored to meet the needs of each group of delegates:

1. We talk in some detail to our main contact in the client company. We find out what they think the course should achieve, and about the delegates.

2. We call each delegate individually in the fortnight before the course. We ask them what they want to get from the training and assess their current skill level.

3. On the day, we make a note of any issues that crop up that can’t be covered at that time. Then, where possible, we pick up on the issues with the delegates who raised them at a later date.

4. Through a series of email alerts, we gently remind delegates of particular issues in the weeks after the training. This helps to stop people going straight back to work and forgetting all about the training. It keeps the buzz going.

5. At a date and time agreed before the training, we review progress. We get every delegate to complete a training appraisal form. (We think it’s more honest to get their feedback now rather than straight after the training. We want feedback on the effectiveness of the training; not whether they enjoyed the day.)

This might seem like a lot of trouble to go to but one thing we don’t want is to run training and then forget all about it. We believe our approach gives you more value and increases the likelihood that people will improve their skills as a result of the training.
